Um fyrilesturin sigur hon: In the talk I will examine some of the transformations that are taking place in Icelandic fishery based localities, transformations that involve new ressource management systems in the fisheries, new developments in technology and changing role of the state in regional development. Based on a case study of one locality, as an example, I consider the effects of these changes and how men and women cope with them.
